Who is involved with ACCB?

The AIDS Coalition is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors.  The Directors of the board are responsible to set the direction (strategic planning) and develop and maintain the policies and procedures of ACCB.

The paid staff includes the Executive Director and two Coordinators of the Needle Exchange.  On various occasions ACCB will have staff hired for special projects such as the Walk for AIDS.

The AIDS Coalition and the Needle Exchange rely heavily on volunteers for such things as SANE’s natural helper network, public speaking, peer counseling, reception duties in the office, and fundraising activities.

Funding Sources

ACCB receives funding from Health Canada through the National AIDS Strategy’s AIDS Community Action Program.

SANE receives funding from Nova Scotia’s Department of Health.

The Health Fund for PHA’s is supported by kind donations and fundraising events, such as the annual Walk for Life.
